Join us in restoring the land!
Who am I?
My name is Joseph Octaviani, a proud Puerto Rican born in Tampa, Florida in ‘95. From a young age, I was immersed in the cultures of hip-hop and sports, while summers in Puerto Rico, visiting grandparents in the mountains, on their farms, nurtured my deep-rooted connection to nature. These early experiences instilled in me seeds of passion for the natural world that would not bloom until my early 20’s when I met my wife and experienced burn out from the city-life.
A pivotal moment in my life occurred in 2017 during a severe health crisis that left me hospitalized and undiagnosed. This challenging period led me to the teachings of several elders and the trails and tribulations through self-experience, igniting my journey into natural healing and plant-based medicine. Through extensive self-education and personal experimentation, I transformed my health and dedicated myself to empowering others to do the same.
During this time I picked up gardening, regenerative agriculture, land stewardship! Countless books, many garden failures and years of experience I became confident enough to increase the scale of my gardening operation and transform it into land restoration.
Although most known for my herbal company, one of my true passions has always been restoration of the land humans have violently destroyed. In spring 2024 I decided to take measures into my own hands and purchase a piece of land to restore it myself instead on others.
Along the journey I have recorded myself working the land and created a vlog that has reached tens of thousands of views and continues to spread in popularity on Youtube.
What is Project Oasis?
Our land project is a visionary initiative with a deep commitment to environmental stewardship and regenerative practices, our project is designed to create a living model of ecological restoration, and community empowerment. We are reimagining the landscape as a space for rewilding, species conservation and hands-on educational workshops that demonstrate how innovative, eco-friendly solutions can nurture both the environment and the human spirit.
Your generous support is essential in turning this vision into reality. Donations will directly fund the development of the land, the creation of future sustainable infrastructures, purchase of future lands and the launch of community programs that empower local residents with practical skills in local medicine picking and sustainable living education. By contributing, you are not only investing in a project that honors our planet but also helping to build a resilient community for future generations. Join us in cultivating a legacy of hope, innovation, and environmental stewardship!

Use Of Funds
-
The cornerstone of any rewilding project is the investment into different tree and seed species. This project focuses on species native to the Western Mojave Desert where our land is located. From wildflowers to shrubs and evergreen trees we plan to diversify our seed inventory.
-
Land work requires extensive labor and materials in which these donations will cover. From shovels to planter boxes and shade cloths we will be using an array of things to help us protect our seedlings, restore the soil and capture rain water.
-
As Project Oasis develops the demand for workshops and seasonal programs are at an all-time high giving great opportunities for the community to get involved in restoring the land. We have plans for workshops that will include composting 101, animal habitat creation and more!
-
Due to the great distance of our land project (2+ Hrs away from home) every trip incurs travel costs such as gas, food, car maintenance, etc. A small piece of each donation will be saved for this.
-
A piece of every donation will be saved as we aim to restore lands all over the world!
Our Major Goals
-
Biodiversity of the key to a balanced ecosystem. Our goal here is to introduce or reintroduce native species in the landscape. That can look like spreading seeds or increasing animal shelters (DIY Homes) to house more native animals on the land.
-
Although a long term goal this one is as important as any. In california wells and aquifers are drying up at an alarming rate. The loss of water is increasing the size of this unnatural desert habitat and kiling off key species of plants and animals. We are actively creating water retention structuces to combat this! -
Our land sits outside a Wildlife and Wildflower sanctuary giving us an amazing opportunity to create an extensive compendium for all the life around us. Our land and vlog will be used for conservation efforts for all endangered and non-endangered animals alike in hopes of collaborating with environmentalists and enthusiasts worldwide!
-
This project aims to reestablish everyone’s connection with earth through educational content, hands-on workshops and more!
